Fiercer Sarah (16Feb12)
Fiercer Sarah

IT’S a mix of kaba and saya for Sarah Geronimo. She’s thrilled that she’s being given the opportunity to try hosting, via "Sarah G. Live," a weekly musical variety show to start on February 26 bringing to mind such programs as "Superstar," "Vilma," "Sharon" of Nora Aunor, Vilma Santos, Sharon Cuneta, respectively.
She knows it’s a huge chance, and Sarah – who does not think herself a host – considers doing the solo program a big challenge. The pop star even goes so long as to admit that there are times her attention is called for being "tactless." Sarah reveals she’s going to be more open about herself in the show.
"Gusto kong makita nila na may bago silang makikita sa akin as a performer. As a person din, kasi 24 na ako this coming July," she candidly says.
She was initially fazed by the notion of doing a solo show. Her bosses did not offer her any consolation. They told her that they will not instruct her on what she should do or what words to say. Their only advice was – just be yourself.
"At ‘yun naman po ang gusto ko," the young superstar says with a smile.
"Ako naman, ayokong mag-pretend," she explains. "Kaya ganito rin po ako sa inyo. Gusto kong makita po ninyo kung ano ako. Pero iba rin po ako sa bahay. Mas grabe ako sa bahay."
From being the 15-year old singing champion of "Star for a Night," Sarah truly had come a long way with all her achievements as a recording artist, concert performer, actress, host, and even product endorser. Now, the princess redefines the popstar with a weekly concert on TV that everyone will surely be talking about.
It will be a fiercer Sarah every Sunday night in "Sarah G. Live" with her world-class concert performances aside from her refreshingly candid ways. The program also promises to show never-before-seen "Sarah G. moments."
Sarah will be joined in by co-host Luis Manzano, musical director Louie Ocampo, choreographer Georcelle Dapat-Sy, and director Erick Salud. "Sarah G. Live" also features G Force and Gab Valenciano as dance performers and a special guest co-host every week.
