Why did I come to Dayton? Wala lang
For one, it was ate Beng who kept poking at me to join her in Dayton, which would be the first concert in the 12 city tour.. I looked at the price, and initially, it was way off my range.. until God decided to dump some help for me.. and it was then possible for me to fly to the other end of the US.
So I had the resources then to reach Dayton, but still, why go? After all, I'd be seeing Sarah also in San Jose at the very least. Meeting the elusive ate Beng may have been a reason
Maybe.. I wanted to surprise the Geronimos? Believe me (and ate Beng can verify this), I asked myself several times, why I went as far as Dayton. All I know is that, I was there, and I did enjoy my time watching the very first SGIM US concert miles from home. 
Kwentos are still brewing up, and i'm gathering pictures that I have (including ones sent to me) to be used as part of the kwento.. kaya pasensya na po! Hopefully I'll finish Day 1 soon.. haha
P.S. Actually, going to Dayton would be critical for me being able to go to the all California venues with ease.. else I'd be beyond broke trying to go to all the other venues if I include the places I had to stay and the gas money

hehe good point. pagdating talaga kay sarah, naka-blindfold na lang sa mga expenses... always worth it naman ang experience!

Day 1 of 18 - August 17, 2007 - Promos & Shopping @ WAL-MART!
So after a bit of a rest time, ate Beng's phone starts ringing, and the promos were about to begin. Assembling in the lobby of Crowne Plaza Hotel, we waited for all the vans (like 3 of them?) to pull up to the front and we loaded in. I rode along with the line producer, ate Beng, Tita Tinggay (one who looks after Kris), Kris Lawrence, and Raymond Manalo.
First destination was the house of one of the staff members, where we ate some REALLY good food (lumpia, baked fried chicken (this was a favorite), pancit, etc). Saglit lang kami dun. In that short time, however, there were lots of kwentuhan, ranging anywhere from losing and keeping weight low tips... singing... the food we were eating... as well as some weirder stuff (I won't go there).
So leaving that house, we stuff back into the van to go to the next venue, somewhere in a distant neighborhood / country club location. Along the way, more kwentuhan happened... somehow, we were talking about ages. Raymond asked me how old I was, and in reply, I asked, "How old do I look?" When he said "Cguro mga 30+ ka na?" I started my kakulitan with him and ate Beng joined in puro tawanan talaga until we reached the venues.. for the first time, I was feeling "chums" (as ate Beng would say it) or feeling close with the artists.
Arriving then at the promo location, again, some country club location, the artists got out and savored... something.. maybe the air felt nice? Or maybe it was because the houses looked... expensive? Sosyal!
Sarah: "Uy ang saya naman po dito ah.. sosyal! Hehehe"
Side kwento:
Here also, we met Tita Elsie Milby, the mother of Sam Milby, along with the sister of Sam (didn't get her name) for the second time. First time was at the airport, at their arrival earlier that morning. Much to my surprise, Tita Elsie spoke bisaya (!!!) so Princess and I enjoyed our kwentuhan sessions with her in bisaya.. hehe.
Inside the venue, we took our seats, and somehow when I sat down, in front of me, was a box of CDs and IN MOTION magazines. Maybe I took the wrong seat or something? I stayed where I was, and all of a sudden, I was selling cds and magazines a minute later (biglang naging staff member ba?) Since I was busy selling things, I left my camera with ate Beng, who was behind me and taking pictures of them as much as she could. The place was PACKED at the very least. You can't tell how packed from the pictures though...

Katabi ko si Tita Divine where I was selling the cds/mags, and I would look at her on occasion... she looked very tired. I would talk with her once in a while, just little chika again in hopes that she wasn't too bored I wasn't bored at all, heck I was busy and slightly stressing.. Day 1 pa lang naman 'to!
WAL-MART TIME!
After the busy-busy work at the previous promo, time came to pack up and leave. It was around 9pm Aug 17. So we stuffed back into the same vans we came from, and headed somewhere. More kwentuhan in the van.. ate Beng and I were getting closer with these artists. Minutes later, we arrived at a Wal-Mart, and I instantly began to remember how many times I've been to Wal-Mart with Sarah (near countless times now). So I thought, "another long shopping night!"
What typically happens when I'm with the Geronimos shopping at Wal-Mart, Tito Delfin and Sarah go off on their own, and I accompany Tita Divine. So this time around, I'm going with... you guessed it... Tita Divine!
Ate Beng accompanied Sarah (naks! swerte ni ate Beng!) and we all went separate ways. Ate Beng has the kwentos with Sarah in this part, so I'll let her tell those.
Sarah reading up on the latest chismis... if I recall correctly, the cover was about Britney Spears
It was after their checkout that ate Beng and I decided to push for our first shots with Sarah.. solo of course. Ate Beng has her picture somewhere.. mine is... MIA (for now)
We headed back to the hotel and drowned in sleep after absorbing what was a REALLY LONG day 1 in Dayton. Next day would be concert day... concert leg 1 of 12.. is Dayton prepared for Sarah?
