As many of you already know, our website is being hosted on a dedicated server(named EMERALD) which Kuya Anthony purchased and offered to our community for free. Sa mga di po nakakaalam, a few years ago, our website has gotten so popular that our old shared hosting account can not accomodate the website's traffic, With the help of Kuya Anthony, or Adeno to some of you, SarahGeronimo.com got its own server.
Maintaining a dedicated server is not cheap. For a few years now, Anthony has been paying a few hundred dollars a month
just to keep the site going. With the current economic crisis, It is not easy for someone to shoulder this
cost alone so we decided to setup a donation page for all of us who feels able and willing to help.
Money collected from this donation will simply be used to pay for the server and for other maintenance costs.
Kahit po maliliit na amount lang, pag pinagsamasama eh malaking bagay na po at malaki ang maitutulong.
I know Kuya Anthony is really hesitant to do this but I really think na its time na po na gawin natin ito.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You Very Much
Kuya Dan
=====================
In view of the calamities falling upon our kababayans in Pinas, SG.com's "Donate" button/link can now be used to send donations for the relief operations.
When using this link to send financial help for the calamity victims, kindly specify that this is for the relief operations.
Here are some tips and sample screen shots:
1. Once you click on the "Donate" button, and supplied the amount to donate, and the source of funding (either your paypal account, a credit card, a debit card, or a bank account), you will see the following on the webpage (cropped to show just the part to look for):

2. Click on the link shown as encircled on the pic above. It will bring up a Note box.
3. You may type in any message specifying the donation you are sending is for the relief operations. Here's a sample note:

4. You may specify which relief operation it is for. For example, you can put in "Ondoy", or "typhoon victims". In the future (knock on wood!), you can be specific if you want only part of your donation to go to the relief, and the rest to the server payment donation.
5. Proceed with your donation normally after adding the note.
I've gotten in touch with the coordinator for the donate link, and we need to see a note specifying that the donation is for a relief operation.
If the notes are empty, it will be assumed that the donation is for the normal dedicated server payment.
Thanks everyone! Btw, the amount that will be collected will be wired over to Pinas (it will vary, and will depend on the relief operation circumstances) and donations will be put in as from www.SarahGeronimo.com's Popsters/International.
This will help SG.com be prepared to send help when an unfortunate event befalls our kababayans.
Thank you for your generosity and cooperation. Please help us spread the word.
