Villar said the “Villaroyo” issue is just being used as a black propaganda against her husband.
“It’s funny that we’re subjected to a black propaganda that we are the secret candidate of PGMA. We’re not because Manny is the official candidate of Nacionalista Party that has been an opposition party and were not part of the administration”, Villar explained in a press conference yesterday.
Villar named close relatives of Aquino who are with the Arroyo administration as: Former Senator Tessie Aquino Oreta who is with the Department of Education (DEPED), Lupita Kashiwara who is a personal consultant of the President, Paul Aquino who is the Philippine National Oil Company, Margarita “Tingting” Cojuanco who is the President of the PNP College, Jose “Pepeng” Cojuanco who is the President of the Philippine Olympic Committee and Quinto who is the son in law of Kashiwara is with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
“So they have their relatives with the Arroyo administration, while we are not part and we don’t have relatives in the administration of GMA. So why are being dragged to be an ally of the President? Is it because many of the local officials transferred their support to us? It’s not happening only in our party, other officials also transferred in their camp from Lakas and we don’t call them Aquinorroyo”, Villar said.
From that, Villar said, it’s clear who is using the situation for black propaganda just to win this election.
Villar was in the province yesterday as guest of the Women’s groups in Silay, Bacolod and E.B. Magalona.
Villar also appealed to the voters in the coming elections not to use emotions when voting but rather “Let use our head”, she said.
She said, her husband could really relate to the plight of the poor because he grew up from a poor family.
“It was because of his hard work and endurance that he was able to succeed in business before he became a politician,” Villar described her husband.
She said, their wealth started in a sand and gravel business that later brought them to the real estate business.
Vista Line, their company is now one of the biggest companies in the country.
“We don’t need to explain our wealth, it’s an open book,” Villar said.
As to the support of the local officials for her husband, Villar said, they are comfortable with it.
Villar said they have talks with Sagay City Mayor Alfredo Marañon however they will just wait for Marañon to tell the public.
Marañon is the gubernatorial candidate of the United Negros Alliance in the province.
Manny Villar is set to launch his campaign in the province at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan on April 11 with the full slate of the Nacionalista Party. Celebrities led by Sarah Geronimo are expected to draw big crowd during the campaign rally. (Teresa Ellera-Dulla)
