There are many reasons Sarah Geronimo’s followers should not miss Hating Kapatid, which grossed P10.5 million in yesterday’s first day screening.
First, it’s her one and only movie this year. So this is the first and only time fans will catch their idol on the big screen for this year. And, judging from the rushes, Hating Kapatid has all the makings of a blockbuster. It could even make Sarah a box-office queen for the third time in a row (she has won the Box-Office Queen title twice – for You Changed My Life and A Very Special Love).
The second come-on of Hating Kapatid lies in Sarah’s role as the youngest daughter of OFWs. Sarah returns to a genre many of her fans have grown to love seeing her in: comedy. "That’s why I love the challenge this film gives me," says Sarah.
The third come-on is Sarah’s team-up with Judy Ann Santos. It’s the two stars’ first team-up, and Sarah learned a lot from Judy Ann, who plays her older sister Rica in the movie. "She’s not only a good actress but a beautiful person a well," Sarah describes Judy Ann.
The fourth reason Hating Kapatid is a must-see is that it features a new tandem, that of Sarah and Luis Manzano. Sarah and Luis’ rapport makes the screen ignite with romance.
Produced by Viva Films, Hating Kapatid, a project by the blockbuster tandem of Wenn Deramas and Mel Mendoza-Del Rosario, is also Sarah’s early birthday offering to fans, since she turns 22 this coming Sunday, July 25.
