Sam Milby Explains Abrupt Closing of Soap with Sarah Geronimo

MANILA, Philippines — Sam Milby’s pairing with Sarah Geronimo in “1DOL” seems to have not picked up and the show will no longer last a full season.

The show’s poor showing in the ratings have reportedly caused panic among ABS-CBN executives. After some deliberations, the execs decided to put “1DOL” on the chopping board.

Sam explains the show’s fate.

“Naging tape-to-air kami. There was a change in the script before and it became tantamount. Kung ano ‘yung tine-tape namin sa umaga ipapalabas sa gabi. So, ‘yun ang naging problema namin,” the acoustic heartthrob explained on “Juicy” on October 22.

The schedule of the main stars were also cause for concern.

“Next week aalis si Sarah for two weeks. Tapos ako aalis in two week’s (time). So, dalawang bida ang mawawala. They can’t do something about it.”

On the personal front, Sam shared talked about his ongoing friendship with acoustic singer Marie Digby.

“Still talking and texting. We realized na ang hirap talaga kasi long distance. We don’t know when we’re gonna see each other. Kahit papaano we both know that we’re happy... that we made a good friendship. Kasi I know we’re gonna be good friends naman,” he said.

The last time Sam saw Marie was months ago when he performed in a concert in Japan. Together, they performed a number, much to the delight of their fans.

A lot are also curious about the possibility of Sam working anew with ex-flame Anne Curtis. While being positive about it, the hunk feels it will take some time before they can work together in a project.

“I’m sure sometime in the future. Madami kaming supporters hanggang ngayon. I’m sure it’ll be a while pa before that happens. Ako, I’ll be fine with it. It’s only right kasi ang dami naming supporters.”

But to the possibility of him and Anne reconciling, Sam slammed the door on the issue.

“I think Anne is open na may dine-date siya muna. Unang-una, I’m just happy na may trabaho pa ako. I’m still young. Wala akong plano na magpakasal any time soon. I feel I wanna concentrate sa career. It’s not that I don't like to have a relationship but I will not look for it. Gano’n lang.”

Farewell episode of Sarah Geronimo's 1dol, it's all done in rush, and the consequense that they have to face is their early exit in primetime. The abs-cbn management decided not to continue it's 1dol musicserye because of it's very low performace as far as rating is concerned.
Critics are saying that 1dol was done in rush and it's mediocre in the making compared to the other teleseryes done in the past. Audience lose track of what it's all about because there are too many things happening. Also they should realized that the audience today are smarter than before.

But knowing abs-cbn, they will continue to give you the more mature teleserye of musicserye in the near future. Surely, they will fix these things just to give their audiences a more credible one.

RUSHED is really the word.

They did their best naman kahit madalian pero mahirap talaga naging kalagayan nila.

Poor copy
Dollywood

A studio insider insists that the real reason why ABS-CBN’s “Idol” was axed, aside from poor ratings, is that Sam Milby wasn’t too happy with the way the story revolved more around Coco Martin than him.

Personally, I think the series was ill-timed. Since the lead star Sarah Geronimo is being pitted against Charice, it’s inevitable that she suffers by comparison especially because Charice’s phenomenal launch in “Glee” happened around the same time “Idol” started.

To make matters worse, “Idol” is a poor second-rate copy of “Glee.” Hopefully, Sarah, Coco and Sam’s next project will regain “idol worship” for them.
