SOUNDS FAMILIAR By Baby A. Gil (The Philippine Star) Updated March 07, 2011 12:00 AM Comments (0)

The ongoing worldwide fascination with talent contests on television began about a decade ago in the United Kingdom. The show was Pop Idol which was exported to other countries and became American Idol in the US, Australian Idol Down Under and so forth depending on the country. We had it twice without much success, as Philippine Idol first and then as Pinoy Idol. Do you remember who won? We did better with Star For A Night, which was also originally a British show which yielded a Sarah Geronimo

Thanks ILSG for sharing.

Sarah G is one of the greatest "talent search" winners in the Phil who became a supertar
because she has the "X" factor that most of the winners didn't have!

There will be many more that will come along the way, but Sarah has the "it" factor that will see her going for a long time to come.....you might think that when she won she was ordinarily looking but the more you look and listen to her, the more mesmerizing she is that you won't look anywhere else....she has the staying power that only a few has like in the tradition of Sharon Cuneta, Regine Velasquez, Judy Ann Santos, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Gary V and Martin that 25 or 30 years in their career and still ongoing..... :th_GoSG: :th_GoSG: :th_GoSG:

God Bless Her & Her Family always!!!
