ONE HEART MALL TOUR – SM MEGAMALL, JULY 31, 2011
A second serving of Sarah’s One Heart Mall Tour is something to look forward to after her month long vacation from the US. And even though rain is incessantly pouring over the Metro, it was not a hindrance for a fan like me to brave the weather and be one of those present in SM Megamall and witness a Sarah Geronimo worked the crowd that gathered at the venue way ahead of its scheduled 5pm show.
And same with her first One Heart mall tour in Glorietta, you need to buy her One Heart Album for you to avail limited seats inside the venue. Good thing the production of this mall tour allowed those with stubs, early entry inside the venue and we didn’t need to endure long hours of standing in line again. Gates were opened at around 3:30pm and seats were readily filled up. Some were still allowed inside the venue but they don’t have seats anymore and it was perfectly fine with them. A Lola on a wheelchair was positioned beside us to have a better view of Sarah.
Marvin Ong again front acted for Sarah and sang songs like Just The Way You Are, California Girls, I’m not Doing Anything, Init Sa Magdamag w/ Alma, A chorus from Sarah’s Forever’s Not Enough song, Marry Me w/ Alma’s special participation again, hihihi! As everyone waited for Sarah arrival in the venue the audience were instructed by the DJ/Host to join some games, like an impromptu singing contests, asked the audience to text SARAH to 2332 and get a confirmation reply, ask for cellphone numbers w/ Sarah’s Sino Nga Ba Siya as their ringback tunes and win One Heart Posters and the chance to be first in line during the cd signing.
As soon as Sarah walked towards the stage, the audience went wild, loud cheers erupted and filled the venue, some pushed forward prompting the guards to stand in front of those seated inside the venue. Sarah sang I Miss You and every time the audience hear her voice filling up the area, the audience went wilder with cheers and you can’t seem to really concentrate on Sarah’s singing because of the loud and continuous cheer and applause from the crowd, even the second floor & third floor were filled with people each craning their neck to have a glimpse of Sarah. After Sarah sang, she greeted the audience with this: “Hello megamall!!! Wow! Thank you, thank you po for joining us this afternoon (interrupted by a “We Love You, Sarah!!” cheer, hihihi!) Thank you, popsters! Maraming salamat! Kumusta po? Ayan, kahit na maulan andito po kayo! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you SM Megamall for letting me promote… (interrupted again by a “Happy Birthday, Sarah! Cheer, hehehe!) Thank you! My latest Album entitled, One Heart at the song po that I just sang yon po yong I Miss You, composed by Mr. Louie Ocampo. I Miss You, napakagandang awitin.. the album… Hello! Hi baby! Meron po siyang 8 revivals at saka 8 na original songs, sino hong ano… syempre popsters meron na! Thank you very much! Yes, thank you, kuya! Sa mga hindi pa po nakakakuha, I’m inviting you to get a copy, magandang album po ito… at ito po yong 2nd song na kakantahin ko ang carrier single ng Album, (With us still standing and pleading the guards to kindly exit the front because the audience sitting can’t see Sarah on stage, by this time Sarah noticed that we we’re talking to the guards). Sarah said, “Ha? Sorry? Hahaha! Nakaharang? Si Kuya? Hihihi! Nakaharang ba? Kuya, ‘di daw Makita, hihihi! (With the crowd agreeing with Sarah and saying na hindi nga Makita, hahaha) Paki ayos na lang po… syempre nagrereklamo si Ate…(sabay silip, hehehe!) si Ate Mhel! Hihihi!!!!! ‘di daw makita, sige pakiayos na lang po ha…. Hahaha! (buti na lang umalis yong guards upon the instruction of the Head Guard sa unahan and the audience were able to sit and enjoy Sarah’s performance). Ang song po na ito ay ginawa po ni… Thank You! (as the guards exits J). Uhhm… ito po ay kinompose po ni Mr. Vehnee Saturno, this song is called Sino Nga Ba Siya?” Mas ginanahan ang crowd na mag-cheer, even though Sarah was still singing, her voice was being drowned out by the cheer and applause of the crowd, nakaka-proud lang, hahaha! J
“Napaka-appreciative nyo naman po… napakasarap po sa aming performers kapag po nakikita naming nagugustuhan nyo po ang performance namin, pinapalakpakan nyo kami. Maraming Salamat po. Thank You”. She finally saw Nanay, sitting on her wheel chair in front of her. “Hi Nay! Hello po Nay! Teka, lapitan natin si Nanay!” (Sarah went down from the stage, the people behind Lola was requested not to push Lola. Sarah approached Lola, hugged and kissed her with a barrier separating them. Lola hugged her tightly and as if she doesn’t want to let go of Sarah, Lola was so happy and was even teary-eyed because a Sarah Geronimo bothered to give her a fleeting memorable moment, it was a touching scene amid the frenzy of the event, thumbs up, indeed! J). “Salamat Nay at nanood po kayo! Okay!” Sarah went back on stage and said, “Ang mga awitin ko po sa Album ay medyo punong-puno po ng mga sawing awitin at yong kinanta ko kanina, Sino Nga Ba Siya, ayon. Ayon, hahaha! Kung mapapansin nyo po yong mga ginawang kanta sa akin ni Mr. Vehnee Saturno halos lahat heartbreak songs ano, magmula sa… ay hindi yong Forever’s Not Enough, maganda pala siya, inspiring pala yong kantang yon, at saka inlove ang kantang yon! Ito pong next song na ito ay another composition of Mr. Vehnee Saturno, ito po ang latest single namin, this song is called Kung Siya Ang Mahal. Sinong ano… sino ang nasa ganong sitwasyon ngayon?” All: Ako!!!! Hahaha! “Halika Ate, halika”! She requested Rose to join her on stage. J Sarah: “Kabisado mo ‘to, ‘te?” Muntik mahimatay si Rose, habang holding hands with Sarah on stage, hahaha!! Rose dahan dahan sa kamay ni Sarah, hahaha!!!!
“Thank you, maraming salamat po, teka baka po meron akong dapat pasalamatan, sa Manila Bulletin, People’s Journal, Business World, My Phone at ang SM Record Bar maraming salamat, nandyan po sila with our Viva Sales People and again my heartfelt gratitude to SM Megamall, marami pong salamat, palakpakan po natin ang SM Megamall.” Sarah then playfully said, “And once again, I’m inviting everyone to get a copy of my One Heart Album, magandang awitin po yan at meron pong Bonus track na Fallin’ themesong from the movie, Catch Me I’m In Love and speaking of Catch Me I’m In Love, in the works na po ang pagsasamahan namin ni Gerald, sana mapaganda po talaga namin ng maayos yong proyekto namin na ito para sa inyo, thank you. Ano pa ba? Yon lang po, at ito please also get the ringback tunes of One Heart, to all globe users simply text SARAH to 2322 available na rin po worldwide ang One Heart Album on itunes, Yehey! Okay, from two heart break songs, let’s move on naman to a happy song, yong talagang nakamove on na na kanta, this is composed by Marcus Davis, siya po yong gumawa ng Kembot, at saka yong ibang mga R&B Songs ni Ms. Amber Davis, yan. Isa po akong fan, at talagang happy po ako that I was able to work with him in this album, magandang awitin po, ibang tunog naman para sa ating mga pinoy, para po sa inyong lahat Handang Umibig Muli!” And then went on to dance a few step while waiting for the song to start and yon, nahuli tuloy siya, hihihi!!!
Sabi ni Sarah, “Teka, ayan nahuli tuloy ako, kasi naman… hehehe! Isa pa, one more, one more, ulit! Gusto ko yong may back up ang boses” A certain guy suddenly stood up and said he’ll do the back up. Sarah: “Hindi! I mean, yong back up vocals! hahaha!!! Gusto mo ba? Gusto mong sumayaw? Halika, halika! Hello! Anong Pangalan mo?” Eman po. Sarah: “Eman po! ay, boses girl ka! KIlala mo ba si Marcelito?” Eman: “Opo naman.” Sarah: “Kaya mo ba ang ginagawa ni Marcelito?” Eman: “Magaling po siya!” Sarah: “Oo, magaling talaga!” Eman: “Dream come true!” Sarah: “Dream come true! Ang taas ng boses mo! Kaya mo bang kumanta ng mga songs ni Ms. Reg? ni Ms. Regine Velasquez? Eman: “Ano po yong, Sino Nga Ba Siya?” Sarah: “Hindi, yong mga kanta gi Asia’s Songbird, Narito ako! Na la….” Sample nga, Say That You Love Me. And Eman gamely sang some of the lines on high notes even though he has difficulty in doing so, and Sarah have to hold Eman’s hand holding the microphone dahil nanginginig siya, hahaha!!! He was such a good sport. Sarah: “Thank you very much din, palakpakan po naman natin si Eman, ang dmaot naman… yong mas malakas naman pong palakpak.” “Happy Birthday kay Ate Donna!” Wala siya? Birthday ni Ate Mhel rin? Hihihi!” Okay, ready na ba ang ating song? Game? It’s evident that Sarah is more confident on stage doing a song and dance number and it show that she’s enjoying every bit of it while performing Handang Umibig Muli and the crowd cheered even more and from every movement Sarah did, there’s ummphh and grace in her movement, more precision in every drop and flicker of feet, fingers and body. Sarah is a joy to see doing a dance & song number simultaneously. After the song Sarah said, “handing-handa naman ako don! Hihihi! Okay, ha?” Sarah looked up towards the food stalls on the second floor, “Wow Libre naman po dyan!hahaha!!! Doon pa! Hindi, joke lang! Pwede nyo rin pong seryosohin, mahilig po ako sa pagkain, hihihi! halata pa ba? (sabay squeeze sa arm niya, hihihi!), okay, ang ganda naman ng song na yon, hello! It’s one of my favorite songs from the album, handing umibig muli.”
“Okay, Ito naman, isa sa mga inaabangan ng lahat ano? At ako’y happy at napagbigyan tayo n gating special guest na maging bahagi ng Album na ito, syempre nagmula sa isang sikat na banda, ang Calla Lily, friends, please welcome, Kean Cipriano!” Kean: “Pwede po nating sabihin ng sabay-sabay, pagbilang ko ng tatlo, sabay-sabay ha, Happy Birthday Sarah Geronimo, okay? Saglit, Belated Happy Birthday Sarah Geronimo! Okay? 1, 2, 3!” All: “Belated Happy Birthday, Sarah Geronimo!” Sabay abot ni kean ng one long-stemmed Red Rose kay Sarah, hiyawan at sigawan ulit ang mga tao! Sarah: “Thank you! Kean ang gwapo mo, hahaha! (sabay lapit kay Kean, at lumayo naman yong isa, hahaha!) Ang jacket mo! Ang cute mo! Nakita ko yan sa music video nyo, napanood ko kanina lang yata. Palakpakan po natin si Kean. Okay Kean, kantahin na natin ang song na ‘to?” Kean: “Ikaw? Sige! ” Sarah: “Ay sige, sige, ‘wag muna, magkwentuhan muna tayo.” Crowd: Loud Cheer!!! Sigawan!!! Sarah: “Okay ang Bata is written by?” Kean: “Written by…. Hihihi! Parang ano ‘to a… déjà vu…” Sarah: “Oo alam mo to, déjà vu, pampahaba lang, ikaw naman….hihihi!!” Kean: “Written by Darwin Fernandez from BPS” Sarah: “Kean sumusulat ka ng mga songs, ‘di ba?” Kean: “Oo, tawagan mo lang ako sulat ako.” Sarah: “Paano mo ginagawa yon?” Kean: “Syempre kailangan ko ng papel, ng gitara at kailangan ko ng inspirasyon.” Sarah: “anong nauuna, yong words ba or yong melody? Kean: “Depende, depende… sa mood… ikaw, wala ka pa bang naisusulat?” Sarah: “Ako? May mga naisusulat, pero hindi pa kasi ako confident sa mga naisusulat ko.” Kean: “Dapat gawin natin yang mga naisusulat mo, o ‘di kaya’s gumawa tayo ng banda.” Sarah: “Banda? Oo nga, sige, sige maganda yan, sana nga in the future ‘no mapagbigyan ako ni Boss para maka-collaborate ko yong mga ibang artists.” Kean: “Oo nga, bakit ayaw mo na sa akin?” Sarah: “syempre, yong buong band, yong Calla Lily.” Kean: “Sana matuloy ‘no? Calla Lily and Sarah Geronimo.” Sarah: “Oo nga, Wow! Kung Okay lang sa inyo.” Okay, para po sa inyo, this song is called Bata!”
Yes the crowd was all pumped up and yes, they both look good on stage, there’s chemistry. With their voices in harmony, they sing with gusto their lines in the song. Sarah has that aura, that magic that can make everyone cringe with kilig and it was felt with her duet on-stage with Kean. And Kean was game in giving what the audience wanted. The glances, the laugh. He even made the sign of the cross when he holds Sarah’s hand, a gesture that speaks volume, I guess. And the crowd went wilder as they both gamely sang the Bata song as they hold hands. Sarah was the first to volt out and again gave that bungisngis laugh, hahaha! J Sarah: Kean Cipriano! Of Calla Lily! Anong nangyari? Wala pa tayong matinong duet, hahaha!!! Kean: “ Thank you, thank you! Thank you Sarah, belated Happy Birthday!” And as if he doesn’t want to leave the stage. Whew! Sarah: “Thank you Kean! Naku! Naku! Alam na alam ko yan, pamilyar ka! pamilyar ka! Hahaha!! Mga lalaki talaga Naku!! Hihihi! Hindi. Ganon talaga ‘di ba? O ‘di hindi kayo kinikilig kung ‘di kayo nag-eenjoy, ‘di ba? Hihihi! Okay, gusto nyo po ba? Gusto pa daw nila…. O sige gusto ko pa rin po, pero sabay-sabay po nating kakantahin ‘to no? Sino po ba ang nakapanood ng Catch Me I’m In Love? All: Ako!!!!!!!! Sigawan! Sarah: “Thank you! Maraming salamat po! Again this song is for all of you, Once again thank you very much for joining me this afternoon! Iniimbitahan ko po kayong kumuha ng Album, One Heart, under Viva Records. Para po sa inyong lahat! Fallin’!”
As the people fall in line to have their CDs signed by Sarah, you can see from the faces of those who saw the mall tour enjoyed the event, they’re either smiling or laughing and there were those who at the last minute bought Sarah’s album at the venue to have that chance to meet & greet Sarah on stage. Even the audience who were at the second and third floor didn’t leave and stayed all through out the CD signing, it’s enough for them to see Sarah in the flesh. And it was an event worth doing again and again and again. Sarah, you never fail to amaze, mesmerize and turn skeptics on your side. You never fail to give yourself unselfishly whenever you’re onstage performing and giving everyone a performance that can’t be forgotten. As Eman said, Dream Come True!

Nakita ko nga yung difference dun sa carton cover. Yung lyric sheet lang nung bagong cd yung nawala sa akin. Nagkapalit ata sa dami nang nagpa sign. But it's fine. Halos mag-shrink na din kasi ako sa overwhelming reaction ko sa pag thank you ni Sarah sa akin. May fan moment masyado.
