Blockbuster movies, chart-topping music albums, sold-out concerts, top-rating TV programs and numerous endorsements… Sarah Geronimo did it all by herself for the span of nine years. At the age of 23, she has already proven a lot, which is clearly evident via her numerous titles such as Popstar Princess, Box-Office Queen, Singing Champion, Most Promising Female Singer, Multi-Platinum Awardee, Princess of Philippine Movies and the latest, Concert Queen of the New Generation.



Having started her career at the age of 13, Sarah has devoted her whole life to performing onstage and bringing happiness to her fans and supporters. The life of a Popstar Princess isn’t an easy ride, Sarah admitted. With her hectic schedule, she has to make an extra effort make time for herself.



Hence, small or big achievements serve as a personal fulfillment for the Popstar Princess. For the year 2011, Sarah is very proud of her academic, career and lovelife accomplishments.



Never satisfied with what she’s capable of, Sarah is continuously honing her craft. Last year, she flew all the way to the US to undergo dance and voice lessons. “Siguro yun pong no’ng mag-aral ako sa U.S. Sandali lang naman po yun… nag-voice lessons ako at nag-dance lessons. Kasi mahirap po talagang maisingit yung schedule ko, pero nagawa ko na finally.”



She also counts in her perseverance to get a college diploma by continuing her studies in UP Open University, where she takes up Associate in Arts. “Siguro yung ano, continuous pa rin po yung studies ko. Napapagpatuloy ko pa rin naman po.”



When it comes to the matters of the heart, Sarah also considers her carefulness to falling in love as an achievement. “Pagdating naman sa matters of the heart, uhm… siguro the past year naiwasan ko muna na ma-break ko yung heart ko. May mga nagustuhan akong tao, pero naingatan ko naman po.” From a small town singing champion, Sarah has indeed evolved into a successful and established woman.

Sarah Geronimo says music is her life

A lot of singing champions have come and go, but Sarah Geronimo stood strong amidst all the challenges. Nine years after her victory in the reality singing contest, Star For A Night, Sarah is now dubbed as the Popstar Princess and the Concert Queen of the New Generation.



Every year, she stuns audiences with her major concerts at the Big Dome. For her 24th birthday this year, the Popstar Princess comes back to the concert stage on July 7 for the much-awaited “24/SG. The Birthday Concert”.



“I usually do one major concert a year and so excited ako. Dream concert po ang concept nito. Parang fairy tale that is more visual. May pagka-theatrical kasi mas gusto ko pong theatrical. Ayaw ko po ng tulad ng past concerts ko na may pagka-variety. Mga spiels gusto ko mas spontaneous.”



If there’s one thing that helped her achieved her stature today, Sarah says it’s “patience.” The Popstar Princess started joining singing contests at the age of two. Though sometimes she failed to take home the trophy, Sarah never gave up her dream of becoming a singer.



Singing in front of the crowd has always been her passion in life. “Yun po talaga ang passion ko ever since. Talagang di ko ma-imagine ang sarili ko po na iba ang ginagawa ko other than singing or performing.”



Though she has been named Box-Office Queen twice, Sarah has never imagined giving up singing for her acting career. But if given the chance to do another movie, the Popstar Princess wants to portray something that her fans have never seen before.



“Well, so far mga roles na nagagampanan ko medyo may pagkakapareho po. In the future po sana mas challenging roles. Hindi naman po yung mga sexy pero mga inspirational.”



Sarah always considers her fans whenever she has to make career decisions. “Baka di magustuhan ng mga fans. Yun din ang challenge ko pag naging seryoso ang mga roles ko. Kasi baka hanap-hanapin nila yung mga dati kong roles and dapat ibigay yun sa mga fans.” But more than anything else, Sarah has her family to thank for. “Thank God that I always have my family. I’m thankful na wala kaming problems, na wala kaming major, major na pinagdadaanan.”
