WHEN one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.”
Sarah Geronimo had been gazing at the ‘closed door’ a bit longer before she realized that she was hurting herself. She immediately turned her head away from it and searched for an open door, thank God.
Sarah's alleged broken ‘romance’ with Gerald Anderson had created a ‘vacuum’ in her life, so to speak. Sarah saw an ‘open door’ when Star Cinema decided to produce the third sequel - It Takes A Man and A Woman - of her tandem with John Lloyd Cruz.
In 2008, Sarah and John Lloyd’s love team was launched through the movie A Very Special Love that grossed P170 million. Due to its success, Star Cinema did its sequel the following year, a romantic-comedy film You Changed My Life which made more than P215 million. Their second movie together established the love team of Sarah and John Lloyd.
In their third time together, Sarah and John Lloyd became very closer with each other. Although it’s not an ‘open door’ for a new romance, John Lloyd’s company had really mended Sarah’s broken heart.
“True talaga na time will come na makaka-let go ka sa anumang heartaches sa tulong ng isang true friend like Lloydie,” Sarah said during our interview.
When asked if there is a possibility that their closeness could blossom into a real love affair, Sarah replied “Malay n’yo... Good catch naman si Lloydie… and siguro naman good catch din ako para sa kanya,” followed by a long giggle.
Cathy Garcia-Molina who directed It Takes A Man and A Woman and was beside Sarah during our interview said that indeed there is ‘sweet thing’ going on between Sarah and John Lloyd. But as of now, love angle is not possible for them because Lloydie is in a relationship with Angelica Panganiban. By the way, on its opening day (March 30) It Takes A Man and A Woman made P32 million at the box-office and last Sunday (March 31) the movie’s earning had soared to P65 million.
In the meantime, another door has opened wide for Sarah concerning her career as a singer. Just recently, she’s been nominated in the World’s Best Female Artist, World’s Best Live Act and World’s Best Entertainer of the Year categories of the 2013 World Music Awards. She’ll be competing against world’s famous artists like Adele, Britney Spears, Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Lady Gaga and Mariah Carey. The World Music Awards honors the best-selling recording artists from every continent. According to its official website, there is no jury involved in the selection of winners as the results will be solely based on fan votes.
