Sarah G Live - Constructive criticisms

28 February 2012 - 07:15 AM

I have collected some constructive criticisms i have read from fans/unfans who was able to watch the pilot and i hope someone can relay this to SGLive Team to make their succeeding episodes near perfect:

@SarahGLiveOfficial 1. Luis as cohost 2. Gab as dancer/arranger 3.
GFORCE 4.
mejo scary un stairs sa stage for sasa esp mahilig sha mag-heels. 6.
Baihana as backup vocals w/ matching choreo!! 7. Louie ocampo 8. erick
and i agree w/ one comment sa twitter: save the comedy acts for GGV.
:) Congrats!!! FROM: ilovepinkbutterflies (youtube)

You need more high caliber talents in your show....try to be
comfortable hosting. I enjoy listening and watching you perform. I am
pretty sure you will improve this Sarah G. Live down the road. ...God
bless! FROM: caviteboy2012 (youtube)

Being the first, I'll say what this performance must have been
commented. Sarah becames a legit. When she says, "wala naman pong
overwhelmed, parang it's the very first time she stood still there and
saying words in the most humble way. The song?? Kudos to Mr. Louie
Ocampo, he did great with the arrangements and Kudos to Sarah because
of her full emotions as she sang the song. The Pilot Episode is one
of a kind. I love it! FROM: updt143alfy (youtube)

Strong pilot episode. Of course, som improvements pa on som part of
the show especially sa hosting skills ni Sarah G. Sabi nga nya, it
will not be an overnight improvement, pero w/ this show, mahahasa siya
ng husto sa hosting. The show was entertaining! And yes, Sarah
delivered what she does best, & that is performing live. You can see
through her eyes & movements how passionate she is with her craft. No
comparisons. Hindi matatawaran. Kudos to Sarah G Live team! Cant wait
for next Sunday! FROM: gervuz (youtube)

@sarahgofficial A lot of things to improve pa. Sana lakihan yun
stage, more kantahan & sayawan. :) But still, it was an amazing pilot

FOR ME, overall, the pilot was a success but i still find some things for SGLive to improve. i hope theyre open to suggestions (P.S. i sent this email to sarahglive2012@gmail.com so u might read it like i am addressing this to someone..)

STAGE - the lighting is good, widescreen backdrop and overhead tv is good (though the overhead tv has no use for us watching on national tv)... when the cam spans to the audience, i find the studio small (i dont know whats wrong with it, maybe the sitting arrangements or the studio itself)... i luv the cameras, they spans without cameramen, hope u can improve it ala "so u think you can dance" spanning where Sarah's facial expression as well as Gforce is enhanced... STAGE? scary!!, can u make the stage a little wider and with less steps (for me, watching SG and GForce dance in that very limited space is "scary"!...)

SIGE GO - Genius! As I have said i was very happy that u came up with this segment that will let Sarah experienced things and for us to see her in different perspective... hopefully every Sige go segment, she has someone that she can do that experience with i.e girl bonding, boy bonding, mentor bonding, family bonding for special occasion..etc..

OPENING PROD/ DANCE PROD w/ GAB - Hope to see this 2 alternate per SGLive episode (meaning opening with Gab, then next opening salvo or opening salvo, then prod w/ Gab)... I agree with "@yeyellowrose pls mag add din ng prods na makaka relate pati oldies".... There's no denying that SG can do beyonce, katy, gaga, rihanna, jlo or any in season artist, but can u incorporate oldies like what she did with Billy C (the next one concert) or 2011 abscbn xmas special (although not always)... Production also with ala "rocker", "rapper", "country music" , "r&bs", etc.. Also, hope to see Sarah play instruments and sings OPM (if not her music then other artists)...
DANCE PROD w/ GAB - i know both can dance hiphop, but can u capitalize on them to be the dancing duo of Phil dancefloor like "so u think u can dance"... hope to see them dancing tango, lyrical, ballet, contemporary, hiphop/contempo, etc (as in ala "so u think u can dance" na production)..

GUEST HOST - For me, if the guest host will only host, might as well ditch the host... Luis can make all the talking, SG is not even talking much, and 1 hour is too short for the guest host to host.. If a guest host is necessary, hope that host will have a production with Sarah, they need to do a sing or dance or whatever number...

THE GUEST - Its a little awkward for me to see Sarah interviewing a guest without guidelines she can be guided on what the topic will be all about, much more if they are only standing.. hope u can provide seats, have Luis/guest host help Sarah, and an idiot board where Sarah can get ideas to talk about.. Hope the guest host/guest can be from other networks also and that
the mgt havent set boundaries for ur guest...

FINALE - Love the finale... This is where we can see the "emotional voice" and "birit voice" of Sarah... Hope u can encompass the music genre from 60's to 2012 (Foreign/OPMs) with different arrangements (c/o Sir Louie) and make it Sarah's own version.

Just my two cents :) .... Hope it will help SGLive make a difference... Again, Congratz!

Hope someone can relay this to SGLive team..

Luv U Sarah G.!

SG goes on a yacht date with Gerald, refers to him as "babe"

28 February 2012 - 06:30 AM

Sarah Geronimo goes on a yacht date with Gerald Anderson; Sarah refers to Gerald as "babe"

Monday, February 27, 2012 05:02 PM

For the opening number of her musical variety show, Sarah G Live, Sarah Geronimo emerged wearing a futuristic looking outfit with shimmering silver accents and knee-high boots.

After performing a series of energetic song numbers, Sarah went backstage and came out wearing a knee-length high dress cinched at the waist with a red belt. The Popstar Princess was walking towards the audience as she gave her opening spiel: "Magandang gabi ulit sa inyong lahat! I love you all!"

Suddenly, she tripped a little as she stepped on to the platform of the stage. But she caught herself on time as she continued: "This is it! Woohoo! Una po sa lahat, taos pusong akong nagpapasalamat sa inyong lahat for being here at pag welcome sa first episode ng Sarah G Live."

She admitted, "Dream come true po talaga ito. Asahan nyo po na lalo kong gawing special ang Sunday night family bonding ninyo."

Sarah then introduced her co-host Luis Manzano whom she described as the "Pambansang Lucky Charm." Luis then came out and gave the singer-actress a bouquet of flowers. Sarah took this time to congratulate Luis who was seen last Saturday, February 25, as the new host of Kapamilya Deal or No Deal.

Derek Ramsay was then introduced as the special guest for the pilot episode. Sarah described him as the "hottest hunk in town."

SIGE GO ADVENTURE ON A YACHT. At this point, Sarah was asked about her so-called "Sige Go Adventures" with Gerald Anderson.

Feeling rich!"

A video of Sarah at the CCP complex was then shown wherein the TV host invited everyone to join her for her first yacht adventure. Meanwhile, Gerald Anderson also shot his own video on the yacht and he told viewers: "Nandito ako ngayon sa napaka romantic na Manila Bay dahil may gusto akong i-surprise, siyempre, siya si Baby Girl, si Sarah Geronimo."

When Sarah entered the Captain's cabin, she shrieked as soon as she saw her leading man in the movie Won't Last A Day Without You.

Gerald told Sarah, "Welcome to my [yacht]. Meron akong post-Valentine date para sa iyo."

Sarah immediately said, "Ayoko nga sabi nun, e!"

The two stars were then shown grilling some hotdogs onboard the yacht. While sitting down for a meal, Sarah asked Gerald directly: "Kamusta naman ang estado ng puso mo ngayon?"

When he asked Sarah about her own love life, Sarah admitted, "Masaya kasi okay na."

The ABS-CBN actor asked Sarah to rate her happiness and she candidly said, "Nine [out of ten] kasi kumpleto naman ang pamilya ko. Healthy ang bawat isa saka blessed ako sa career ko. Nakakakilala ako ng mga bagong kaibigan at isa ka na doon."

A brief video clip even showed Sarah and Gerald holding hands as they talked and joked with each other.

Onboard, the two stars also took the time to do videoke.

When Sarah asked Gerald to choose a song that would describe how he felt at that time, Gerald held Sarah's hand as he sang the line: "You are so beautiful to me..."

For their duet, Sarah chose the song "If I Was the One." Gerald started singing the song while Sarah kept on looking for another song choice in a songbook. Sarah then suddenly blurted out, "Hanap lang ako, babe."

In response, Gerald stopped singing and asked Sarah: "Anong sabi mo?"

A visibly flustered Sarah tried to argue that the word 'babe' came from the lyrics of the song but Gerald insisted, "Walang 'babe' diyan!"

Sarah kept on pushing and joking around with Gerald as she tried to cover up her embarrassment.

SARAH'S IDEAL GUY. As they both sat down for dinner, Gerald took this opportunity to ask Sarah about the qualities that she is looking for in a guy.

The young actress pointed out, "Basta mahal ako. Basta respectful. Kahit hindi kasing gwapo mo. Delikado po ang mga ganitong mukha kasi chick boy."

Gerald retaliated by asking Sarah, "Porke't may itsura ang lalaki, chick boy na agad?"

Sarah emphasized, "Hindi ka may itsura. Gwapo ka. You're beautiful."

Gerald turned the table on Sarah and described her as "Ikaw si Ms. Very Beautiful Girl in the World. Alam mo naming totoo yun, e."

Sarah smiled but she kept on saying, "Shut up!"

Gerald handed Sarah a big bouquet of red roses before they mimicked the famous pose of Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet in Titanic. They even tried ballroom dancing as Gerald lowered Sarah into a dip.

Nanghina ang tuhod - 28Feb12

Gerald Anderson revealed that his knees felt weak when he heard Sarah Geronimo call him "babe" recently.

The two stars went on a yacht date for the pilot episode of Sarah G Live that aired last Sunday, February 26.

During their videoke session, Sarah was leafing through a songbook when she suddenly blurted out, "Hanap lang ako, babe."

Members of the press had the chance to interview Gerald regarding this incident during the farewell presscon of Budoy held earlier today, February 28, at the 9501 restaurant located at the ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City.

Gerald said with a laugh, "Napanood n'yo naman na nagulat rin ako!

"Sa totoo lang, hindi ko po alam kung bakit nangyari yun. But siyempre, nakita n'yo na nagulat ako.

"Pero at the same time, kinilig rin ako. Nanghina ang tuhod ko nun.

"Siyempre, isang Sarah Geronimo at biglang tinawag kang 'babe,' Wow!"

NOT IN A RELATIONSHIP. Despite their many sweet moments caught on camera—such as holding hands and clips showing Sarah feeding Gerald—the actor says that he is not in a relationship with the Popstar Princess.

Gerald said with a smile, "As much as gusto kong sabihin na kami [ni Sarah], we're friends and hindi po ako nagsisinungaling sa inyo.

"She does inspire me and I'm just really happy na nakilala ko siya in a different level.

"But hindi po kami, hindi kami.

"Masaya ako kung anong status namin ngayon."

However, their body language seems to say otherwise.

"Maybe there's something... but sa ngayon, friends po talaga kami," Gerald insisted.

RESPECT. When asked if he is courting Sarah, Gerald declared: "Malinaw na gusto ko siya and like I said, inspirasyon ko siya. Just thinking about her puts a smile on my face."

The lead actor of Budoy pointed out that he is aware that Sarah is at a stage when she is not yet ready to be in a relationship.

"Pero at the same time, nirerespeto ko ang pamilya niya kung ano ang stand nila.

"Kumbaga, si Sarah ay nandun pa sa stage na hindi pa ready, na hindi pa puwedeng magkaroon ng boyfriend or ng karelasyon.

"We just have to respect that, respetuhin na lang natin.

"At ngayon palang, yung friendship na nakukuha ko, e, panalo na ako."

Is Gerald willing to wait for Sarah?

"Mahabang proseso 'yan," he said.

"Kailangan makilala namin ang isa't isa on a different level. Yung makapag-bonding kami.

"You can never know someone hangga't hindi mo siya nakikilala."

Gerald then described the qualities that he likes most about Sarah.

"I find her very beautiful. Totoo 'yan. That's from my heart...

"Kahit hindi kami, nakita ko kahit papaano, masaya naman siya 'pag magkasama kami.

"Nagkaroon ako ng isa pang relasyon, isa pang friend who's really amazing and really beautiful and outstanding at masarap kasama.

"'Wag na nating lagyan ng label."

He later added: "Yung pagkatao niya. She's a beautiful person inside and out.

"Ang ganda na nga niya pero mas maganda pa ang ugali niya.

"Masarap siyang kasama. Totoong tao."

POST-BIRTHDAY PARTY. On his actual birthday on March 7, Gerald is scheduled to have his last taping day for Budoy.

He mentioned that he will have a post-birthday celebration on March 11 with the cast and crew of the ABS-CBN primetime show.

Does he have plans of inviting Sarah to this post-birthday celebration?

"Kung libre siya, of course!" said Gerald with a wide smile.

Iza To Join JL/Sarah movie (27Feb12)

Iza To Join JL/Sarah movie
Feb 27, 2012

MANILA, Philippines -- Actress Iza Calzado revealed she will be joining actor John Lloyd Cruz and actress Sarah Gerinimo in a movie.

In an interview with Push.com.ph, Calzado said she considers it an honor to be working in the third screen pairing of Cruz and Geronimo after the blockbusters "You Changed My Life" and "A Very Special Love."

“Ako eh sobrang saya. It’s an honor that I’ll be working with two very established stars at alam ko ito ang ikatlo sa kanilang films. Marami silang fans at sumusubaybay sa kanilang storya,” she said.

Calzado, however, refused to divulge what her role is. "Kung anuman ang role ko dito sisiguraduhin naman ng Star Cinema na hindi naman nila ako ihe-hate. Kung anuman ‘yon, role lang iyon,” she said.

Apart from the movie with Cruz and Geronimo, Calzado will also be starring in an episode of “Maalaala Mo Kaya” in March.

The actress revealed she is also slated to work on a television series soon. “Inaayos pa kung sinong male na lead... Hindi pa ako nag-play ng ganitong role,” she said.

Calzado’s upcoming TV series will be under the direction of Wenn Deramas.
