    Sarah G. Named PH Best Asian Artist at MAMA

    Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo broke new grounds by becoming the first Filipino to win the Best Asian Artist plum at the 2012 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) held in Hong Kong recently. Sarah’s counterparts are Agnes Monica (Indonesia), My Tam (Vietnam), Taufik Batisah (Singapore), Li Yuchun (China), AKB48 (Japan) and Wang Leehom (Taiwan).

    MAMA, organized by Mnet Media based in South Korea, gathers the biggest K-pop artists and is a major music award-giving ceremony for 12 years now. This year’s event was graced by the likes of Adam Lambert, B.o.B and Jackie Chan.

    Other winners at MAMA that received The Daesang (3 Grand Awards) were Big Bang (Artist of the Year), Super Junior (Album of the Year for “Sexy Free & Single”) and PSY (Song of the Year for “Gangnam Style”).
