Finally, lumabas na ang pinakahihintay na album ni Nikki Bacolod, 1st runner up ng Search For A Star In A Million na kung saan ay nagwaging grand champion si Jerome Sala.
Ang album na isang CD Lite from Viva Records ay nagtatampok sa isang composition ni Vehnee Saturno bilang carrier single, ang "Tell Me You Love Me". Si Vehnee ang nag-compose ng "Forever’s Not Enough" at "How Could You Say You Love Me" mga hit songs ni Sarah Geronimo at "When You Find Your Voice" para kay Rachelle Ann Go.
"In full Bloom" ang titulo ng CD Lite na nagtatampok din sa mga awiting "Farewell" (Odette Quesada), "Only When I’m With You" ( Trina Belamide), "Stay Here With Me" (Peter Bertilsson, Randy Goodrum) at ang "You Got It All" ( Rupert Holmes), isang duet nila ni Raymond Manalo.
SEARCH For The Star In A Million (Season 1) runner-up Nikki Bacolod has completed her debut album In Full Bloom under Viva Records.
The CD Lite has four cuts, including Farewell, Only When I'm With You and You Got It All. A bonus comes in the form of a duet with Raymond Manalo, Stay Here With Me.
Only 16, Nikki aims to establish a separate and distinct identity.
That would be great, what with most products of singing competitions sounding very much like their foreign counterparts. Birit lang nang birit, as a number of quarters have observed.
UPCOMING young singer Nikki Bacolod and come-backing singer-songwriter Viktoria may both seem delicately pretty and seductively fragile. But don’t be deceived by their looks! Both have the toughness and the stamina of bemedalled athletes.
Nikki, 16, is a champion swimmer who has competed in national and international sporting events even before she joined the first season of ABS-CBN 2’s Search for Star in a Million in 2005, and became one of the five finalists. At 14, she held the Philippine record in backstroke, swimming in the 12- to 14-year-old division.
Nikki’s training as a swimmer began almost at the same time as her music instruction—to help ease both her childhood asthma. This was in Iligan City in Mindanao, where she was born and raised. It was also there where she would be among the thousands who would audition for Search for Star in a Million. She was barely 15 at that time.
Search for Star in a Million is a co-production of ABS-CBN and Viva Entertainment, and they have an amiable agreement on which talents to sign up among the contest’s five finalists. Nikki was among the three finalists Viva took on for a management contract, which took effect six months after the contest’s promo blitz.
In February Viva Records released Nikki’s first solo album, In Full Bloom, which has six cuts. In between her recording sessions, she resumed her training in swimming, but this time in Metro Manila, where she is fast gaining popularity.
For her schooling, Nikki, who is a high-school senior, enrolled in a home-study program administered by an international Christian school.
